Four juveniles charged after assault near Greencastle school

GREENCASTLE, Pa. — Four juveniles are facing charges following an alleged assault that sent a 15-year-old to the hospital, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Troopers said the incident occurred around 12:42 a.m. June 24 near Greencastle Elementary School on Leitersburg Road in Antrim Township. Police were also dispatched to a local emergency room at the same time to speak with the victim.

During interviews, investigators learned the victim and a friend were allegedly lured to the school by another juvenile to “hang out overnight.” After arriving, the two met two additional juveniles near the school.

Police said one of the boys suddenly punched the victim and forcibly took property from him. As the victim and his friend attempted to leave, they were ambushed by two other boys who had been hiding in nearby bushes.

According to police, the victim was struck repeatedly during the attack, and his backpack and its contents were stolen. The victim and his friend were able to flee and secure a ride to the hospital for treatment.

At the hospital, the victim was treated for a broken nose, along with severe bruising and swelling to his face.

Police said the following items were reported stolen:

  • Glass smoking device valued at $1
  • Nike backpack valued at $30
  • iPhone valued at $250
  • School-issued iPad valued at $300
  • Unknown item valued at $3

The four suspects — identified as two 14-year-old Greencastle Borough residents, a 16-year-old Antrim Township resident and a 15-year-old State Line resident — are facing charges of robbery, aggravated assault and theft by unlawful taking.

At this time, none of the juveniles are being charged as adults, though police said that could change as the investigation continues.

The incident is being investigated by Pennsylvania State Police under case number PA 2026-814150.
