WAYNESBORO – Downtown Waynesboro will come alive April 26-27 with a full slate of community events, offering something for all ages.
The festivities begin Saturday, April 26, with the Waynesboro Indoor Farmers Market from 9 a.m. to noon at 66 W. Main St. Shoppers can browse fresh produce, homemade goods and local products.
Also on Saturday, the Pine Hill Recreation Area will host an Earth Celebration Day and Recycle Fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., featuring live music, environmental exhibits, a student art show and family-friendly activities. Smokey Bear will make a special appearance, and a yard sale will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Saturday evening, Waynesboro Area Senior High School will present Destination Jazz, with student bands performing at 4:30 p.m. followed by acclaimed jazz group The Cookers at 7 p.m.
“This weekend is a great opportunity to enjoy some of the great things about Waynesboro while also supporting some amazing local organizations who are improving the quality of life in our community: The Arts Alliance of Greater Waynesboro, Buttonwood Nature Center and Mainstreet Waynesboro. Great food, music and taking care of our home are some key ingredients to a wonderful Waynesboro weekend!” said Bill Kohler, director of Mainstreet Waynesboro.
On Sunday, April 27, the 7th Annual Downtown Food Stroll will take place from 3 to 6 p.m., beginning at Main Street Park, 25 East Main St. Attendees can sample food, chocolate and more from 16 local eateries. Rough Edges Beer and other spirits will be available for purchase from 4 to 6 p.m. Live music by Lucky Punk will fill the park from 4:30 to 6 p.m.
Passports for the Food Stroll are $25 in advance and $30 at the door, with a limited number available. A drawing for restaurant gift cards will be held at 5:30 p.m.
The weekend’s events aim to showcase Waynesboro’s vibrant downtown and bring the community together for food, music and fun.
