SMITHSBURG, Md. — Residents gathered at Veterans Park on Saturday, June 6, for the annual Smithsburg Days celebration. The family-oriented event, hosted by Smithsburg Pride Days, featured food, vendors, children’s activities, live entertainment and fireworks.
Food trucks, including Tucker’s Pucker, Antietam Dairy and Hicksville Barbeque, greeted visitors in the main parking lot. Dozens of vendors selling local goods were set up throughout the park, along with children’s activities including inflatable bounce houses, games, axe throwing, an obstacle course and bumper cars.
The event ran from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Despite an evening thunderstorm, the weather cleared in time for a performance by Generations Apart and a fireworks display to close the event. The Smithsburg Library also participated in the celebration with a book sale, storytime and a magic show.
