HAGERSTOWN, Md. – Local singers will have a chance to shine this weekend when the Hagerstown Flying Boxcars host open anthem auditions Sunday, March 8, at the Valley Mall in Hagerstown. Tryouts will run from 2 to 4:30 p.m. near the food court.
The minor league baseball team is searching for performers to sing the national anthem at home games during the upcoming season. Organizers said no advance registration is required, and auditions will be accepted in person only.
The event is open to vocalists of all ages and experience levels. Participants should be prepared to sing “The Star-Spangled Banner” a cappella in front of team representatives.
The Flying Boxcars invite residents from across Washington County, Franklin County, Waynesboro, Greencastle, and Chambersburg to come out and share their talent — or simply cheer on the performers.
