First Christian Church has exciting news to share! Jennifer Plummer has been appointed as the new director of youth ministry, and her passion for working with young people is sure to make a positive impact.
Jennifer is an eighth-grade teacher at E. Russell Hicks Middle School in Hagerstown, where she brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm. Church leaders are confident that her background will bring fresh energy to their youth programs.
The Rev. Dr. James R. Brooks, the senior minister at First Christian Church, spoke about Jennifer’s deep connection to the church, which began in her childhood, when she was involved in youth ministry and attended church camp. He believes that her understanding of the challenges young people face today will be incredibly beneficial.
Jennifer is already dreaming big for the youth ministry. She envisions creating a space where teens can not only deepen their faith but also explore their interests and recognize their gifts in service to others. “Our youth serve as a bridge between our present and our future,” she remarked, highlighting the important role they play in the church community.
Eager to connect with young people and their families, Jennifer is ready to embark on this new journey. She aims to help participants discover their passions and talents while inspiring them to contribute to both the church and the broader community.

First Christian Church is located at 1345 Potomac Ave. in Hagerstown. They hold worship services every Sunday from 10 to 11 a.m., and children’s and youth Sunday school runs from 10:15 to 11:15 a.m.
