THURMONT, Md. – Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church will host its annual Labor Day Festival on Monday, offering a family-style dinner and raffle drawings to celebrate the holiday.
The event is set for noon to 5 p.m. Sept. 1 at 103 N. Church St. in Thurmont. Attendees can enjoy fried chicken and baked ham served with plenty of sides, with takeout options available. The air-conditioned dining room will provide seating, and ample parking is offered on site.
Admission costs $15 for adults, $6.50 for children ages 6-12 and is free for those 5 and under.
A raffle will feature cash prizes of $500 for first place, $300 for second and $100 for third, with the drawing held at 5 p.m. Other activities include a big six wheel, peel-open jar tickets and hourly 50/50 drawings.
The festival, a community tradition, aims to bring families together for food and fun on the federal holiday.
