WAYNESBORO – The Mental Health Association of Franklin and Fulton Counties welcomed families Saturday to its annual Carnival of Care, a community event focused on mental health awareness.
Hosted at the Waynesboro YMCA, the event brought together more than two dozen vendors, interactive activities and educational resources. Scott Graham, CEO of the association, organized the program, which ran from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Highlights included face painting, a sensory walk, children’s games and a demonstration by Cpl. Aaron Huntington of the Waynesboro Police Department with his Belgian/Dutch Malinois, Bushta. Govan A. Martin III, chair and executive director of the Suicide Prevention Alliance, served as a featured speaker.
Organizers said the carnival aimed to connect the public with resources while creating a welcoming and family-friendly atmosphere that emphasized the importance of mental wellness.
