On one of the coldest days of the season, about 25 people bundled up and headed to Memorial Park in Waynesboro for a morning of sledding and laughter. Families of all ages made the most of the 19-degree weather Monday, bringing every kind of sled imaginable — from round discs and toboggans to inflatable snow tubes, a bright yellow duck and even a canoe.
Kids built snow ramps for extra thrills, zooming down hills and catching air with excitement. Three girls, featured in one of the photos, soared off a jump mid-sled, laughing as they landed in a spray of snow. One parent said their family had been out for about an hour, soaking up the fresh winter day despite the cold.
Readers are invited to share their own photos and short stories from the day’s adventures. Selected submissions will be featured online. Send images and descriptions to [email protected].
