Fall fest draws crowds to Greencastle with food, fun and local flair

GREENCASTLE – Thousands flocked to the American Legion Grounds in Greencastle over the weekend for Fall Fest 2025, a three-day celebration of autumnal delights organized by Mason Dixon Creations that blended savory eats, handmade crafts and family-friendly thrills under crisp October skies.

The event, held Friday through Sunday, at 4775 Williamson Road, kicked off Oct. 24 with evening hours from 5 to 9 p.m., followed by full days on Oct. 25 and 26 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission and parking were free, though attendees were encouraged to donate to local Scouts via a collection jar.

Highlights included more than 15 food trucks serving up everything from grilled cheese at Bricello’s Grilled Formaggio to chicken sandwiches from Kickin’ Rooster, alongside specialties like Duck Donuts and Keep It Smokin’ BBQ. Breweries such as Hidden Key Brewing Co. and Cold Spring Hollow Distillery anchored a beer garden, while distillers like Hazard’s Distillery offered spirited options.

A car show drew auto enthusiasts, and carnival rides from Snyder’s Attractions provided spins for all ages. Other attractions featured face painting by Aunt Sandy’s Face Painting, pony rides on Saturday and a trunk-or-treat Halloween kickoff on Friday. Axe throwing with Chips Chucks LLC added an edge for adults, rounding out a lineup of “and more” surprises.

Retail vendors numbered 150, showcasing local artisans from pottery by Angie Klouser to 3D prints by Darkstars and handmade jewelry from Besties Baubles LLC. Stands brimmed with granola from All Things Granola, jerky from Hillbilly’s and sourdough from Starting All Things Sourdough, emphasizing handmade and homemade vibes.

Organizers hailed the turnout as a success, with Mason Dixon Creations noting strong community support. “It’s all about connecting folks with our region’s best,” said organizers who highlighted the Scouts’ donation drive as a key community touchpoint.

As leaves turned and temperatures dipped, Fall Fest 2025 capped a vibrant weekend, leaving Greencastle buzzing with plans for next year’s return.
