GETTYSBURG, Pa. — Former Gettysburg Borough Mayor Chad-Alan Carr is facing additional sexual assault charges after three more individuals came forward with allegations, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
Court documents filed Wednesday list three new felony counts—including sexual assault and unlawful depiction on a computer—and two misdemeanor counts of corruption of minors against Carr.
Investigators said the new charges stem from reports by three separate individuals who contacted authorities following Carr’s initial arrest on March 13. That arrest involved allegations that Carr had groomed and engaged in explicit online contact with someone who was a minor more than a decade ago.
Carr resigned from his position as mayor last month, only weeks into his first term, after the first set of charges was announced.
According to the latest criminal complaint, one victim told troopers they met Carr through a dating app in October 2015. The victim, who was underage at the time, said Carr invited them to his apartment, offered alcohol, and later sexually assaulted them despite repeated refusals.
A second victim reported being assaulted while living with Carr at his Gettysburg apartment between December 2014 and October 2015. Troopers said this victim had met Carr while participating in a theater production.
A third individual accused Carr of grooming them during summer camps held at the Eichelberger Performing Arts Center. The complaint alleges Carr encouraged the victim to send him explicit images and spoke with them at parties connected to the camp.
Carr’s arraignment on the initial set of charges is scheduled for April 16, court records show.
Authorities have not indicated whether the new cases will be consolidated or proceed separately.
