CHAMBERSBURG-Honoring the traditions and heritage of Franklin County and the impact the region has had on North America the Franklin County Visitors Bureau will celebrate food with Franklin County Flavor: 300 Years of Food.
300 Years of Food is a multi-cuisine and multi-course meal that will take diners on a trip through Franklin County and celebrate its heritage–from the early Pennsylvania German and Scots Irish settlers to more recent connections to Latin American flavors, plus everything in between: Greek, Korean, Japanese, Italian and Indian.
Franklin County Flavor features food from B Street 104, India Café, Inka, Pure & Simple, The Butcher Shoppe, Falafel Shack, Avocado Cafe, A Matter of Taste Catering, The Orchards, Kenzo, Square One, The Family Cow, Undone Kombucha, Jordyn’s Café, Byron’s Dining, James Buchanan Pub, and more.
The menu features entrees with pork, chicken, fish, and eggplant. Warm side dishes of root vegetables, such as potatoes, onions, turnips, carrots, fennel, yams, and carrots. Cold side dishes use cruciferous vegetables, such as cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, kale, Brussel sprouts, arugula, Bok choy, and collard greens. Dessert showcases the seasonal fruits of Franklin County.
The event will be held Aug. 13 at 6 p.m. in the Great Room of the Franklin County 11/30 Visitors Center on the square in Chambersburg. Tickets are $45. Seating in limited to 104 people.
