HAGERSTOWN – Washington County will host its Emergency Preparedness Expo on Sept. 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Washington County Public Safety Training Center, located at 18350 Public Safety Place. The free, family-friendly event aims to equip the community with essential skills and knowledge to handle emergencies.
Attendees will learn how to build an emergency supply kit, create a family emergency plan and stay informed about various types of emergencies. The expo will feature informative workshops and hands-on training sessions, including CPR and Stop the Bleed courses. Local emergency responders will be on hand to engage with the public.
The event will showcase live demonstrations, including helicopter and K-9 displays, a side-by-side fire demo, a First Energy demonstration and a rollover simulation. Additional highlights include talks on long-term food storage, canning foods and pet preparedness. Interactive exhibits will highlight local safety organizations.
Families can enjoy a meet-and-greet with Chase and Marshall from PAW Patrol, adding a fun element for younger attendees. The expo offers practical resources and engaging activities for all ages, fostering a culture of preparedness in Washington County.
