GREENCASTLE – Pennsylvania State Police are investigating a large-scale egg theft that occurred in Franklin County. approximately 100,000 organic eggs were stolen from the back of a distribution trailer at Pete and Gerry’s Organics in Greencastle. The stolen eggs are valued at approximately $40,000, highlighting the significant scale of the theft.
As of Feb. 9, no suspects have been identified, and the investigation remains ongoing. The unusual nature of this theft has drawn attention, especially considering the recent increases in egg prices due to factors such as bird flu outbreaks.
