CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – Downtown Chambersburg Inc. has appointed Angie Allaire as executive director, effective March 2. A resident of Waynesboro and a Franklin County small business owner with her husband Tim Young, Allaire brings an extensive background in nonprofit leadership and corporate operations to the organization.
Allaire transitions into this role with a track record of organizational transformation. In the nonprofit sector, she specialized in social services for children and adolescents, focusing on mental health. Her corporate experience includes roles in operations and strategic planning, where she led global teams and achieved an 83 percent increase in employee engagement within six months.
“I love communities that are rich in history, especially those where there is genuine collaboration between business owners and community members. I’m so honored to step into this role and serve our community,” Allaire said. “The foundation of Chambersburg is strong. I believe that legacy and innovation are not at odds; rather, they work together to create a thriving environment.”
Allaire holds a master’s degree in counseling and is currently pursuing a doctorate in organizational leadership. Her previous civic involvement includes serving on the board of directors for the Waynesboro Chamber of Commerce and active membership in the Cumberland Valley Business Alliance.
An avid hiker and paddleboarder, Allaire also enjoys live music and the local outdoors. Driven by a genuine curiosity for the people who define the community, she is eager to engage with residents and business owners alike to hear the stories that make the area unique.
She replaces Sam Thrush, who left in November after seven years with the organization.
