CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — Downtown Chambersburg, Inc. (DCI) has been recognized as a 2026 Main Street America Affiliate, a national designation awarded to organizations demonstrating excellence in downtown revitalization, preservation-based economic development, and community engagement.
DCI is one of just 453 Affiliate Main Street America programs nationwide and part of a network of more than 1,600 communities committed to strengthening local commercial districts through the Main Street Approach™.
The designation reflects DCI’s continued investment in Downtown Chambersburg through collaborative leadership, strategic planning, economic development, and community-driven revitalization efforts. In the past year, DCI celebrated the opening of the downtown amphitheater, launched a Business Improvement Grant Program that has invested more than $25,000 in local businesses, continued façade improvement initiatives, and successfully secured Pennsylvania’s Main Street Matters designation.

Affiliate designation is awarded to communities that demonstrate strong performance in organizational capacity, sustainable funding, strategic programming, preservation-based economic development, community engagement, and measurable results.

Main Street America programs generated $9.4 billion in local reinvestment nationwide in 2025, supporting nearly 7,000 new businesses, more than 36,000 new jobs, and the rehabilitation of over 10,000 historic buildings.
This recognition underscores Downtown Chambersburg, Inc.’s ongoing commitment to creating a vibrant, welcoming, and economically strong downtown for residents, businesses, and visitors alike.
