CHAMBERSBURG – The Chambersburg community is preparing to honor its first responders with the annual First Responders Appreciation Day, scheduled for Friday, Dec. 12. The Cumberland Valley Business Alliance is leading the effort to recognize the dedication of local heroes who safeguard the area daily.
Donations will be collected at the Greater Chambersburg Chamber of Commerce, 100 Lincoln Way E., until Dec. 10. Requested items include individually wrapped snacks such as granola bars, gum, nuts, candy and station supplies like coffee, hand sanitizer and pens. The public is also encouraged to contribute monetary donations and thank-you cards for care packages.
Volunteers plan to deliver the donations to local stations, bringing holiday cheer and a token of gratitude. This initiative seeks to ensure first responders feel appreciated during the holiday season.
