WAYNESBORO – The Civil Service Commission of the Borough of Waynesboro has set Feb. 14 as the deadline for applications for city police officer. The physical fitness tests will be on Saturday, Feb. 22. The written examination will be given on Thursday, Feb. 27, at 6:30 p.m., at Borough Hall, 55 E. Main St. The oral portion of the examination is yet to be announced.
Interested readers may secure an application packet at the Borough Hall, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. or request a packet via email at [email protected]. Completed applications must be returned to the Waynesboro Civil Service Commission, Borough Hall, P.O. Box 310, Waynesboro, PA 17268, and received no later than Friday, Feb. 14, at 5 p.m. Completed applications (including all required attachments) may also be returned via email to [email protected] by the deadline.
Veterans who qualify shall be given additional credits and preference. Police Officer applicants are not required to be Act 120 certified prior to taking the test; however, individuals with Act 120 certification or equivalent will be granted 10 points.
Officer pay is up to $67,579 to Act 120 certified individuals. A $15,000 sign-on bonus will be offered for individuals who have their Act 120 certification. The Borough of Waynesboro will reimburse up to $1,000 in relocation expenses for successful applicants to establish residence within the required area.
