WAYNESBORO–The walls may be dark, but the vibe of East Coast Training Asylum is one of light and positivity.

ECTA owners Clint and Tobie Lantz want everyone to feel comfortable entering their power-lifting club, from the newbie to those who want to lose weight and build strength to the power-lifter training for a competition, the goal is to meet everyone’s needs.

“It’s not just about lifting, it’s about helping each person set goals, gain strength and build confidence in themselves,” explained Clint Lantz. “We provide support and encouragement for each person to be legendary.”

Clint Lantz began lifting at age 15 and has continued to grow his love of the sport through the years, has coached youth lacrosse and is a certified personal trainer.

“We’re not just your typical gym. We want to help make our community better, so we look for ways to help,” Tobie Lantz said.

ECTA, 130 W. Third St., is open seven days per week, including most holidays. Services are available for kids as young as 13, with parental consent.
