SHIPPENSBURG — Cumberland Valley Rail Trail Council will cut a ribbon Friday, Oct. 4, to commemorate its partnership within the 9/11 National Memorial Trail, which connects Shanksville, Pa.; Washington, D.C.; and New York City.
A pavilion can be found on the only completed, off-road portion of the system in the Cumberland Valley.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday at the Shippensburg Station trailhead, 51 E. Fort St., Shippensburg.
Jane Sheffield from the September 11th National Memorial Trail Alliance is among the list of speakers for the event.
