CHAMBERSBURG – Chambersburg Police said today “it is with a heavy heart” officers note the passing of K-9 Basco of natural causes.
“K-9 Basco faithfully served our community with his partner, PFC John Sgrignoli, for seven years until his retirement in 2021,” police reported. During his career, Basco was involved in multiple suspect apprehensions and narcotics seizures.
Police said Basco continued to make his home with Sprignoli after the dog’s retirement. Chambersburg has two other dogs who serve the canine unit.
