CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — Freedom, heritage, unity and progress will be honored during the Chambersburg 2026 Juneteenth Celebration on Friday and Saturday, June 19-20. Family-friendly and community-oriented events are planned for each day.
The two-day event commemorates Juneteenth while highlighting the community’s past, present and future. Held at the Spring Street Amphitheatre in Chambersburg, the schedule is:
Friday, June 19
4 p.m. — Official reading of the Governor’s Proclamation by Lu Ransom Butler
4:10 p.m. — Carly Janifer, mistress of ceremonies, presents “The Meaning of Juneteenth.”
4:20 p.m. — Carlenda Owens sings “The Black National Anthem.” Audience invited to sing.
4:30 p.m. — Marvin Worthy presents a reflection of history, progress and community impact.
5 p.m. — Children of NETwork Step Show to celebrate culture, tradition and youth excellence.
5:15 p.m. — Community Celebration with food, fellowship and fun; music by DJ James Butler.
5:30 p.m. — Kyler Davis-Wright musical performance.
5:45 p.m. — A Community Reading by Chanelle Green-Dorwart
6 p.m. — Kelani Monismith-Craig, President of Mercersburg Borough Council, is featured speaker.
6:15 p.m. — Author Dr. Raymond E. Janifer Sr. Book Discussion
7 p.m. — Keith Brandon offers a poetry presentation.
7:30 p.m. — Hands for Humanity, facilitated by Rebecca Burris, to support community unity, hope, and healing.
Saturday, June 20
10 a.m. — Philip Michael Whitley, professional hula hooper, will share his love of hula hooping and offer some lessons’
11 a.m. — Tsunami and Whitehead perform
12 p.m. — Line Dancing
1 p.m. — Shannon Jackson speaks
1:15 p.m. — Beth Farnham speaks
2 p.m. — Historian & Researcher Debra Sandoe McCauslin presents “Harriet Tubman and How the Underground Railroad Was Local History.”
3 p.m. — Closing remarks by Lu Ransom Butler
There is no admission fee for the Chambersburg Juneteenth Celebration. Families are encouraged to attend and enjoy a weekend of learning, fellowship and community fellowship. More information here.
