CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — The Franklin County Career and Technology Center is hosting its second Exploratory STEM Camp this July, offering local elementary students a hands-on introduction to technical career paths.
The free, SkillsUSA National award-winning camp will run from July 20 through July 22 at the center’s campus, located at 2463 Loop Road. Daily sessions are scheduled from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
The program is open to students entering the fourth or fifth grade this fall from any school district within Franklin County. Designed to foster early interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, the curriculum features interactive projects involving computer programming, circuit design, and an introduction to soldering.
The initiative is organized in partnership with Niche Electronics and the Letterkenny Army Depot.
As an added component to the camp, registered participants will attend a bonus field trip to Niche Electronics on Thursday, July 23. Transportation is provided, with a bus departing the technology center at 8:30 a.m. and returning at approximately 11:30 a.m.
Capacity for the program is strictly capped at 18 participants. Due to the limited availability, advanced registration is mandatory. Organizers note that confirmation emails will be distributed within two business days of submission.
