CHAMBERSBURG – The Franklin County Career and Technology Center and Franklin Learning Center marked a special milestone earlier this month, celebrating 50 years of their beloved Fishing Rodeo tradition.
The event, which began in the 1970s, brought together students and staff from both schools for a day of fishing, laughter and camaraderie. Ken Boxler, the HVAC instructor at CareerTech, has a long history with the rodeo. He participated as a student years ago and has kept the tradition alive since joining the faculty in 2000.
This year, Boxler was joined by his HVAC students, Eric Wagaman and the Building Construction Technology students. Together, they helped bait hooks, cast lines and reel in fish, sharing their skills and enthusiasm with Franklin Learning Center participants.
The annual event continues to foster connections and create lasting memories, with students and staff reeling in more than just fish – they caught plenty of smiles, too.
