Buttonwood and Waynesboro Theatre present ‘HOOT’

The restored Waynesboro Theatre stands where the Arcade Theatre once stood

WAYNESBORO – Buttonwood Nature Center is partnering with Waynesboro Theatre to present the movie, “HOOT” on Saturday, April 5. There are two showings, 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. The movie is part of Buttonwood’s Earth Celebration Month activities, and Buttonwood staff will be at the 4 p.m. showing.

The first 50 children age 12 and under get free admission and a small popcorn at the 4 p.m. showing only.

Based on the best-selling children’s book by Carl Hiaasen, the film is about a group of children trying to save a burrowing owl habitat from destruction.

“’HOOT’ is a story about the importance of friendship and the value of standing up for what is right,” said Jessica Watson, Buttonwood’s assistant director.

Ticket are adult $7, children 12 and younger, $6. Tickets may be purchased at the door.

This event is presented in partnership with Waynesboro Theatre and sponsored by Rarrick Orthodontics. Doug Tengler sponsored the 50 free admissions.

Additional support is from Buttonwood’s Today’s Horizon Fund Contributors: The Nora Roberts Foundation; Marge Kiersz; APX Enclosures; Don Gibe and Nancy Erlanson; and the family of the late Carolyn Terry Eddy, with daughters Connie Fleagle & Kim Larkin.
