WAYNESBORO – Jeffrey Geesaman, Washington Township Manager, has announced the burn ban placed on Washington Township Residents has been canceled. The ban will be removed immediately.
The burn ban went into effect on June 6 because of the number of reported fires breaking out in the area due to dry conditions.
Local municipalities have the authority to issue their own ban on open burning when deemed necessary.
