HAGERSTOWN – The Boys & Girls Club of Washington County will celebrate the grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony for its brand-new, 21,000-square-foot youth center at 805 Pennsylvania Ave. on Thursday, July 17, at 11 a.m. This state-of-the-art facility replaces the former Pennsylvania Avenue site, marking a significant milestone for the organization.
For 84 years, the club has been a cornerstone in serving the youth of Washington County. Beginning as a Boys Club in downtown Hagerstown, the organization expanded its reach over the decades to include locations at Frederick Manor, Noland Village and Gateway Crossing, in addition to running programs at Pangborn Elementary School and Jonathan Hager Elementary School.
The new youth center not only offers significantly more space to accommodate its members but also provides a safe and engaging environment for children during their out-of-school hours, reinforcing the club’s long-standing commitment to nurturing the potential of local youth.
