CHAMBERSBURG – Officials of the Boys & Girls Club of Chambersburg and Shippensburg is proud to announce the opening of the Chambersburg Club location at the Franklin County Housing Authority. This strategic expansion will provide essential after-school and summer programming to youth living in Chambersburg.
The new site, which will officially open its doors on June 16, represents a significant milestone in the organization’s mission to enable all young people, especially those who need the club most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on May 13 to celebrate this important milestone in the growth of the club. Community members, local officials and friends and supporters of the club attended the ribbon-cutting event.
“We are thrilled to partner with the Franklin County Housing Authority to bring our programming directly to where many of our community’s children live,” said Arcadia Clever, executive director of the Boys & Girls Club of Chambersburg and Shippensburg. “This new location will allow us to serve more youth in our community with the programs they need to succeed academically, develop healthy lifestyles and build character and leadership skills.”
The new site will offer a variety of programs including homework help, STEM activities, arts and crafts, sports and recreation, and character development programs. The facility will be staffed by trained youth development professionals and will serve school age children in grades K-8.
Danny Myers, director of the Franklin County Housing Authority, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership: “Having the Boys & Girls Club on our property means our young residents will have access to high-quality youth programming right where they live. This collaboration addresses a critical need in our community and supports our families in meaningful ways.”
