WAYNESBORO- Waynesboro’s popular Market in the Park kicked off its 2024 season on Saturday, May 25, along Main Street. Running every Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to noon until September 8, the vibrant outdoor market features an array of local vendors and artisans selling jewelry, books, snacks, baked goods, flowers, wine, clothing, and delicious offerings from food trucks. The festive atmosphere was enhanced by live music, adding to the enjoyment of browsing the diverse stalls and supporting small businesses in the community.
The 34th annual Youth Festival was a resounding success. Presented by the Buttonwood Nature Center, the free outdoor event catered to kids of all ages with a variety of interactive activities, demonstrations, exhibits, and entertainment. Highlights included a lively performance by artist and musician Mark DeRose, a StoryWalk® and craft led by the enthusiastic Buttonwood staff, and a delightful presentation by the talented Waynesboro Children’s Theater Troupe. GREENCASTLE- The Relay for Life event at Greencastle-Antrim High School on Friday, May 17, brought the community together in the fight against cancer. More than just a fundraiser, it provided a unique opportunity for participants to take action through activities like the kids’ zone, basket raffles, a “teddy bear” lap, and performances by local groups such as Majestic All Stars, GASD Indoor Guard, PA Starz, Clarissa’s School of Performing Arts, and SHOW Cheerleading. The Relay for Life of Franklin Fulton Counties offered hope and support to those touched by cancer while fueling the push to ultimately defeat the disease.
WAYNESBORO – The streets of downtown Waynesboro were buzzing with activity on Saturday as the annual Boro Brew Fest took over the town center from noon until 4 p.m. The popular event, now in its 5th year, featured over 40 local vendors showcasing a wide variety of beers, wines, and spirits.In addition to the alcoholic beverages, attendees were treated to live music performances, games of chance, and a plethora of food truck options. The combination created a lively, festive atmosphere that drew crowds from across the region.
