CHAMBERSBURG – F&M Trust recently donated $5,000 to The Maryland Theatre in support of its Century Club, which consists of community members who believe in the arts and have made a commitment to the historic preservation of the theater built in 1915. SHIPPENSBURG- The 12U Ship Maroon softball team, which played in the Chambersburg Suburban League, recently won the league championship, capping off a perfect 14-0 record. Ship won the championship game 8-7 over Fulton County in dramatic fashion, coming back from a 3-run deficit in the bottom of the seventh inning with a 2-out rally. Kinley Killian took the mound first for Ship Maroon and pitched a scoreless top of the first. Buttonwood Nature Center, home of The Institute is hosting a new 5-day summer camp on Monday to Friday, July 29–Aug. 2 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Textile Arts Camp at Pine Hill Recreation Area near Waynesboro, Pa. is open to kids completing grades grade 3 through age 17.
