QUINCY—A Holiday Cheers Bingo to benefit Knick Knack Pittie Pack Dog Rescue will be held Sunday, Dec. 12, at Quincy Community Center. The event will include 32 games with prizes including cash and gift baskets donated by local businesses and supporters. The kitchen will be open offering food and baked goods. Tickets are $25 and can be reserved by calling or texting 717-552-8801. Tickets will be available at the door until capacity is reached. Doors open at noon, early birds at 1 p.m. and regular bingo at 1:30 p.m.

WAYNESBORO–Hearthstone Retirement Home and In-Home Care is celebrating being 20 months COVID free for all its residents. “With a group of residents and clients of advanced ages, we were especially concerned when we first heard about COVID-19.” said Joey Thomas, Hearthstone administrator. “We started developing protocols in mid-February 2020 before a lot of state and federal officials focused on the virus. WAYNESBORO—Birds have been flying out the door at Waynesboro Community & Human Services. WCHS chose to distribute turkeys and chicken roasters this year in place of a Community Thanksgiving Dinner. “We had to make this decision in September when COVID numbers were very high in Franklin County,” explained Denise Esser, executive director. On Nov. 19, WCHS distributed turkeys or chickens to 224 families.
