AT to benefit from grant

HARPERS FERRY, WVA – The Appalachian Trail Conservancy is pleased to announce it is the recipient of a $400,000 grant from the Olo for Good Fund, a Donor Advised Fund of Tides Foundation. This generous grant, which is the ATC’s largest gift to date from a corporate partner, will help further the Conservancy’s mission to protect, manage and advocate for the Appalachian Trail and its surrounding landscape.

The ATC is one of nine organizations selected for funding from the Olo for Good Fund, which was created in 2021 by Olo, a leading open SaaS platform for restaurants, as a part of their Pledge 1% commitment.

“The Appalachian Trail Conservancy is honored to receive this extraordinary gift from Olo for Good,” said Sandra Marra, president and CEO of the ATC. “This gift will help protect one of the most biodiverse areas of our country that is enjoyed by millions of people from across the globe each year. We are proud to add Olo to our network of nationally renowned corporate partners.”

“Olo is immensely proud to support the Appalachian Trail Conservancy,” said Nithya Das, chief operations officer/chief legal officer at Olo, as well as one of the Olo For Good Executive Sponsors. “ATC’s commitment to preserving the natural environment aligns with our core values as a company, especially the environment so close to where many of our employees live and work.”

For almost 100 years, the ATC has been the leading organization dedicated to protecting, managing and advocating for the A.T. Through its work, the ATC aims to protect the Trail and its landscape; preserve the one-of-a-kind visitor experience that brings more than 3 million people to the Trail each year; and build a sense of belonging between the A.T. and its visitors, ensuring that support for the Trail will continue to grow for generations to come.
