WAYNESBORO–First Energy has announced there will be a planned power outage that will affect local residents on Wednesday, Dec. 22. The outage will allow for facility upgrades and will affect customers in the vicinity of South Broad Street. ​HARRISBURG — Older adults and people with disabilities have until Friday, Dec. 31, 2021 to apply for rebates on property taxes and rent paid in 2020. The departments of Revenue and Aging are reminding Pennsylvanians that the rebates are available through the Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program, which benefits eligible Pennsylvanians age 65 and older; widows and widowers age 50 and older; and people with disabilities age 18 and older. YORK—WellSpan Health has announced it will use nearly $600,000 in grant funding from the Pennsylvania Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs to expand a program that has already served hundreds of expectant and new mothers who are battling substance use disorders. WellSpan Foundations Pregnancy Support Services, which was first funded in 2019, offers case management services to provide coordinated, comprehensive and nonjudgmental care for women with addiction and their children. HARRISBURG– The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has updated the 511PA traveler information service to include new features and alert customization for passenger vehicle and commercial vehicle drivers. HARRISBURG – Pennsylvania protected 2,569 acres on 30 farms in 18 counties from future development, investing more than $7.2 million in state, county and township dollars. In Franklin County, the state invested $5,302 state, with $113,110 in county funds, to the Jere D. Hissong, Sr. Farm, a 53-acre crop farm near Mercersburg.
