CHAMBERSBURG – The Franklin County Good Wolf Treatment Court will celebrate the program’s 22nd graduate and mark five years of continued success as an alternative to incarceration during a special ceremony on Thursday, Sept. 1. The aim of the run is to promote public awareness of breast cancer and to come together as a community to show love and support. CHAMBERSBURG–Residential and recreational areas in and around several Franklin County townships and communities will be sprayed for adult mosquitoes beginning around sunset on today. On Aug. 29, Franklin County will spray in the area of Penn National and Pond Bank, including Anthony Highway, St. Annes Drive, Augusta National, Fairway Drive East and West, Landfill Road, Old Pine Drive and Greenbriar Lane.  High populations of adult mosquitoes capable of transmitting West Nile Virus – as well as nuisance mosquitoes – have been detected in these areas. WAYNESBORO—A local education center will celebrate 50 years with a ribbon cutting Wednesday, Aug. 31, at 4 p.m. Waynesboro Day Care Center, 1801 E. Main St., will debut its new playground area, which was fully funded through generous donations from the community and grant funding.
