CHAMBERSBURG- The Franklin County Commissioners have proclaimed April 14-20, 2024, to be Reentry Week in Franklin County and are encouraging residents to support individuals who are returning to their communities after being released from jail. More than 73,000 Pennsylvanians are estimated to be incarcerated; another 171,000 are under community supervision. Locally, an average of 132 individuals are released from Franklin County Jail each month. As these individuals reenter society, they can face a complex transition and often encounter hurdles regarding employment, housing, transportation, substance abuse treatment and mental health care. CHAMBERSBURG- Monday, April 15, the Franklin County Stop Hopper on-demand shuttle service will now include Fayetteville as part of its service zone. This expansion was made possible through the support of the Franklin County IMPACT! Grant program. The Stop Hopper service operates Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., providing residents with a flexible and convenient transportation option.
