MERCERSBURG – Mercersburg Academy recognized the 13 students who were inducted into the Cum Laude Society in the fall. Mercersburg was one of 382 secondary schools across the country with a chapter of the Cum Laude Society. CHAMBERSBURG – Hundreds of volunteers fanned out across Franklin County on Friday, Nov. 1, for the annual Day of Caring event organized by the United Way of Franklin County. The day-long initiative saw community members tackle a variety of service projects at local nonprofits and organizations, addressing critical needs and fostering a spirit of civic engagement. HAGERSTOWN – Two local EMS and Emergency Services teams were honored recently for what was called a remarkable achievement in saving a 2-month-old infant’s life during a rare out-of-hospital pediatric cardiac arrest. The Washington County Division of Emergency Services presented the Life Savers Award to Clear Spring EMS and Division of Emergency Services team members for their work on June 3.
