WASHINGTON TOWNSHIIP – There is nothing quite like a local rezoning hearing when it comes to motivating residents to engage in civic affairs. And this was evident on Monday, Nov. 18, when Washington Township Supervisors approved a request from Waynesboro Country Club to rezone 1.3 acres from agricultural to residential. Supervisors met at a regularly scheduled meeting at 1:30 p.m. Four of five supervisors were present: Chairman Charlie Strausbaugh and supervisors Stewart McCleaf, Scott Stine and Barb McCracken. WAYNESBORO – The parent company of Homes by Keystone, a five-decade business in greater Waynesboro, is looking to the late 1990s and early 2000s as it makes plans for the business’ future. WAYNESBORO – On Friday, Dec. 6, the lights on the trees in front of the hospital will be lit to begin the ‘Lights of Hope’ project. The Wellspan Waynesboro Hospital started this much anticipated project in 1991, and it has continued until now. Every light represents a $10 donation in honor or memory of a loved one. The “Scroll of Honor,” a book which lists the names of all honorees, is on display at all times in the outpatient lobby of the hospital. When he completed the South African “Comrades” ultramarathon (54+ miles) last June at age 65, it made him the first person on record to do each of the world’s three oldest ultramarathons on separate continents.
