The youth football regular season has come and gone and so, too, did the opening round of the postseason last weekend. The older I get the more acutely aware I become of time. And for some reason, that precious time just seems to be moving faster by the day. The United Recreational Soccer League and the Central Pennsylvania Youth Soccer League are down to the final weeks of play, and as the season comes down to its final act, we’ve counted at least seven Franklin County teams who are on top of their divisions. At least for now. The Waynesboro Youth Soccer Association has been especially potent in URSL, with three of its teams leading their respective divisions with undefeated records. The Warriors (3rd-4th grade), Waynesboro FC (5th grade), and Thunder (6th grade) are sporting a combined 18-0-1 record, with the teams outscoring their opponents 107-22 in the process.…

Fall sports are well underway and the results are in: Greencastle athletes are showing up with some big performances on the collegiate stage. On the gridiron, ex-Blue Devil Nate Kirkwood is finding increasing opportunities to handle kicking duties for the Division I Navy Midshipmen.
