CHAMBERSBURG—Pennsylvania State Police are investigating reports of catalytic converter thefts across Franklin County. The latest victim was a business in the 600 block of Kriner Road in Guilford Township. Since January, there have been 35 reports filed by Pennsylvania State Police relating to catalytic converters, with more than 97 vehicles affected, according to PSP. Catalytic converters are typically found on the underside of a vehicle and serve as an exhaust emission control device designed to reduce toxic gases and pollutants. LOCK HAVEN — Former Waynesboro Area Senior High School football star Quentin Gaskill has been selected to the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division All-Conference first team as a defensive back. Gaskill, a junior at Bloomsburg University, led the Huskies and was third in the PSAC with 89 total tackles for the season. WAYNESBORO–A lockdown at schools in the Waynesboro Area School District has been lifted. The schools were ordered locked down by state and local police after a police incident, which began after 2 p.m. Thursday afternoon. The incident has ended at Ringgold Pike at Misty Meadow Road near Smithsburg, Maryland. State Police from Pennsylvania and Maryland are reportedly on the scene. According to PSP, the area of Ringgold Pike at the Pennsylvania-Maryland line will be closed for an extended time and motorists should avoid the area. There is no danger to the public at this time, according to police.
