ROUZERVILLE – The ninth annual Mason-Dixon Appalachian Trail Outdoor Festival was held Saturday, June 14, at Red Run Park. The event, designed for hikers and outdoor enthusiasts of all ages, welcomed the public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 12143 Buchanan Trail E., just west of where the Appalachian Trail crosses Pennsylvania Route 16.

The event took place rain or shine, with cancellations only considered in cases of severe weather.
Sponsors this year included Red Run Grill, which donated sweet tea for volunteers and visitors, Megan’s Custom Framing, the Native Niche, Summit Signs, Navitor and Buchanan Auto Stores. Buchanan Auto Stores displayed models of their Jeep lineup for festivalgoers to view.
Live music was a highlight, with the Trail Troubadours – Bruce Rowland and Mike Reyka – beginning performances at 10 a.m. The bluegrass band Shade Tree Collective played from 1 to 4 p.m., providing entertainment throughout the afternoon. Admission to the festival was free.
