ANTRIM TOWNSHIP – Residents of Antrim Township are awaiting a new natural water play area at Antrim Township Community Park. The attraction, designed to resemble a babbling brook, includes rocks, dams and shallow streams for hands-on exploration and creative play.
The project, set to open ahead of Greencastle-Antrim Old Home Week, offers a unique alternative to traditional splash pads. Safety surfacing mimics flowing farm fields, paying homage to the area’s agricultural roots, and a tractor is incorporated into the design.
The play area will be complemented by additional playground features, benches and a pavilion. The public is invited to celebrate the grand opening Friday, Aug. 8, from 10 a.m. to noon at Antrim Township Community Park.
Organizers say the new water play area is intended to encourage imaginative outdoor play and community engagement.
