WAYNESBORO – Amsterdam Road will soon reopen after Washington Township received grant funding through the Commonwealth Financing Authority to fix a long-closed bridge, Rep. Chad Reichard (R-Franklin) announced.
“This funding will allow the township to fix the bridge and fully reopen Amsterdam Road. Once the project is complete, area residents will once again have additional options for their travels,” Reichard said. “I want to thank the Commonwealth Financing Authority for recognizing this community need.”
The $354,232 grant will cover the cost of repairing the bridge. Funding is through the Pennsylvanian Department of Transportation’s Multimodal Transportation Fund.
The Multimodal Transportation Fund provides grants to encourage economic development and ensure a safe and reliable system of transportation is available to the residents of the Commonwealth.
