CHAMBERSBURG – On a bright spring day in May, Allied Health students from Franklin County Career and Technology Center visited Menno Haven continuing care retirement community, alongside instructors Marla Moore and Michele Myers. The day was filled with colorful spring crafts created indoors, followed by outdoor gardening activities.
Students and residents worked together to plant raised garden beds, which are expected to produce both flowers and vegetables. The collaborative effort emphasized more than just horticulture; it aimed to foster meaningful relationships between the students and the Menno Haven community.
The event, dubbed “Menno Haven Monday,” highlighted the center’s commitment to building healthcare connections and nurturing bonds that extend beyond the classroom. According to organizers, the day planted the seeds for lasting relationships between students and residents.
