AHS featured pet of the week

WAYNESBORO – The Antietam Humane Society offers cats, dogs and a variety of animals for adoption to loving homes. For more information on providing a forever home, prospective pet owners may visit the shelter at 8513 Lyons Rd., visit the website or call them at 717-762-9091.

We have a wonderful duo for our Pets of the Week! Midnight Mouse (Spayed Female, 5 Years) and Puddin (Neutered Male, 5 Years) are a very sweet, albeit shy duo that would love to find a forever home together or with another kitty friend to keep them company!

This pair came to us after their owner was no longer able to care for them and have had a hard time adjusting to being in the shelter. They can often be found snuggled under their blanket together or curled up on a bed.

Puddin is definitely the more outgoing of the pair, especially when he is in the mood for a snack or when it is mealtime! He loves gentle pets and while he isn’t yet the biggest fan of being held, he will not turn down the opportunity to get some ear scratches and butt pats. Since coming to our adoption floor, he has slowly started coming out of his shell and has even started venturing to check out the other adoptable cats and the cat trees! While it doesn’t happen too often, you can sometimes catch him batting around a toy if he is really in the mood to play. Puddin absolutely LOVES catnip and amidst his little crocodile rolls in it, he will definitely become your best buddy if you give him some.

Midnight Mouse is the slightly more timid of this pair but equally as sweet. She can most often be found tucked under her blanket and will occasionally poke her head out to check out her surroundings. She is not mean/aggressive in any way but will need some time to warm up in her forever home. In fact, Midnight Mouse will even give you kisses and licks on your hands and fingers as a thank you for any pets! She has not ventured far from the safety of her cage and Puddin’s side, but has really appreciated getting snacks (especially canned food!) and is generally a very easygoing, gentle kitty.

Midnight Mouse and Puddin previously lived with other cats and would not mind a furry friend in their forever home as company! We would recommend that any potential children friends understand that being in a new environment is very stressful for this pair and that they will need extra time to decompress.

If you have a little extra TLC to give and would be willing to welcome this pair of sweet kitties to your home, then be sure to stop in and visit!
