WAYNESBORO – An unstoppable force and an immovable object: Through five games, the Waynesboro Stallions Pony football squad has been both of those things.
Competing in the Capital Football Association’s Federal Conference, the Stallions have blown out every opponent they’ve faced and have yet to allow a single point this fall. Waynesboro (5-0) is outscoring the competition by a 114-0 margin, while the Stallions’ Midget team is off to a 3-2 start.
The Fairfield Knights have also been a force to be reckoned with, as their Peewee, Pony, and Midget teams have combined for a 14-1 record so far this fall. The Knights’ Pony squad has been especially lethal, outscoring their CFA Liberty Conference opponents by a 183-18 score.
Another standout squad in the CFA’s Liberty Conference has been the Chambersburg Blue Pony team, an outfit boasting a 4-1 record.
We’ve added the Washington County Junior Football League under our youth sports umbrella, and while we’re still waiting for Week 3 results, we can confirm the Hagerstown Giants have a nice little program. Competing in the varsity division, the Giants entered the third week of play with a 2-0 record, having outscored their opponents 65-6 in the process.
Below is a league-by-league, team-by-team look at how youth football squads from the Local.News1 coverage area have performed up to this point in the season:
