FAYETTEVILLE – For the past three weeks, Totem Pole Playhouse has welcomed 40 talented young performers ages 11–18 to its advanced Teen Musical Theatre Camp. This audition-based program provides daily training in acting, singing and dancing, culminating in a full-scale production of “Mean Girls Jr.,” based on the Broadway hit and beloved film.
Two free performances will be offered to the public:
– Friday, July 25 at 7 p.m.
– Saturday, July 26 at 10:30 a.m.
Admission is free and open to all – no tickets required.
The production is directed by Adam Wennick, a nationally recognized actor, director, producer and educator. Music direction is by Bailey Wennick (nee Hovermale), known for her engaging ensemble work, and choreography is led by Jenn Reed, a seasoned performer and educator with extensive regional and NYC experience.
“These camps are a little slice of magic,” said Producing Artistic Director Ryan B. Gibbs. “Campers get to breathe fresh air in one of Pennsylvania’s most beautiful parks while training in the same rehearsal studios and performing on the same historic stage used by our professional artists. It’s fun, formative and unforgettable.”
All rehearsals and performances take place at Totem Pole’s professional indoor and outdoor venues, offering students the unique chance to develop their craft in an inspiring natural setting.
This year’s Teen Musical Theatre Camp and production are sponsored by Wilson College and an anonymous donor.
