WAYNESBORO – Waynesboro Police have charged a man who allegedly fled the scene after he was accused of striking a pedestrian with his vehicle on May 18.
Marvin Scott Stouffer, 51, of Waynesboro, was charged with a count of accidents involving death or personal injury in connection to a suspected hit-and-run that occurred on May 18, according to Waynesboro Police. He is free on bond.
The incident happened on the 100 block of South Potomac Street, police said.
The victim reported he and a friend were crossing the street to go to Rutter’s at about 8:40 p.m. when a white SUV struck him on the left side with its front bumper.
The driver of the vehicle allegedly yelled “Sorry, I didn’t see you” at the victim and kept driving, according to media reports.
The victim, who did not suffer serious injuries, described the driver as a white man in his 50s or 60s, police said.
