Lieutenant Randolph L. “Randy” Miller, (Ret.), passed away July 4, 2025 in Daegu, South Korea after more than a two-year battle with brain cancer and leukemia.

Born January 11, 1952 in Waynesboro, he was the son of Mrs. Frances “Pampy” (Harbaugh) Miller and the late C. Robert Miller.

He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. He married Audry (Kung Hee) Miller at the U.S. Embassy, Seoul in July, 2000. He was very proud of her to receive U.S. Citizenship in 2003.

Randy was a graduate of the Waynesboro Area High School, Class of 1969 and received a Certificate from Baltimore Institute in 1971 for accounting and computer programming. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in October, 1971 and had assignments at Lackland AFB in Texas, Chanute AFB, Illinois, Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio and Barksdale AFS, Louisiana. He was honorably discharged in 1980. He then enrolled at Louisiana State University (LSU)-Shreveport, graduating in 1984 with a degree in finance.

He reenlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1985 and was commissioned as a navy intelligence officer. He did duty in the Mediterranean, South Korea and Hawaii, receiving an honorable discharge in 1996. In 1997 he began working for various corporations with government contracts at Camp Walker, Daegu, South Korea and retired as a Cyber Security contractor with ICT Corporation.

Randy’s health began to fail and in late 2022 was diagnosed with two cancerous brain tumors and was hospitalized for six months. He returned to work in August 2023 and retired June 27, 2024. In early July, he was advised that he had leukemia and a third inoperable brain tumor. He was under Hospice care since February of this year.

Randy like driving around South Korea with friends and finding local restaurants and tourist attractions for their signature foods. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing golf with his wife.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his daughter Stacy M. McCleaf (Daniel) and two grandsons, Cy and Owen McCleaf and three sisters, Jane M. Kirkpatrick-Stephey (Gene), Linda M. McLaughlin (Daniel) and Mary Ellen M. Hess (Rick), all of Waynesboro and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, August 5, 2025 in Green Hill Cemetery, 953 S. Potomac St., Waynesboro where military honors will be conducted by the Honor Guard of Charles Nitterhouse VFW Post #1599, Chambersburg, PA.

Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro, is handling the arrangements.
