Classical pianist Frederick Moyer will bring his unique blend of artistry and innovation to Waynesboro this weekend with the Fred Moyer Jazz Trio. Known for his note-for-note transcriptions of legendary jazz pianists, Moyer will showcase a diverse range of styles during the performance. The concert is set for Sunday at 3 p.m. in the Waynesboro Area Senior High School Auditorium, 550 E. Second St. This event is part of the Waynesboro Community Concert Association’s ongoing efforts to bring high-quality music to the region.
Grace Gardens in Chambersburg will host a whimsical Garden Tea Party Sunday, April 6, from 4 to 6 p.m. The event, designed for children 12 and under, features pastel décor, spring florals, and a menu of kid-friendly bites, including peanut butter and jelly tarts and mini sliders. Activities include decorating flower-shaped cookies and hair tinseling for an additional fee. Guests are encouraged to dress up, with a photo backdrop available to capture memories. Tickets include access to the greenhouse with a 10 percent shopping discount. Adults accompanying children without participating may attend at no charge but must reserve seating in advance.
The Waynesboro Area Gala Auction Inc. will host its 43rd annual cancer auction on Saturday, April 5, at Green Grove Gardens in Greencastle. The event, which begins at 3 p.m., aims to raise funds to support cancer patients in Franklin County through services such as transportation, lodging during treatment and financial assistance for medical expenses and utilities. Operated entirely by volunteers, the auction is free to attend and does not require tickets. Last year’s auction raised $120,000, benefiting organizations like the American Cancer Society and Breast Cancer Awareness Inc.
The Washington County Rural Heritage Museum in Boonsboro, Maryland, will host its Spring Re-Opening Day on Saturday, April 5, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event offers hands-on activities for children, including kite-making and painting Easter rabbits in the German Fraktur style.
