You can help local volunteers crush cancer by supporting the 43rd Waynesboro Area Cancer Auction April 5.
Since 1982, the auction has raised over $2.6 million, including a record-breaking $120,000 at last year’s event, to support Franklin County residents going through cancer treatments.
Admission is free, and the atmosphere is casual, according to co-chairs Alison Huber and Kristyn Martin. A plethora of silent and oral auction items, gathered by volunteer solicitors, will again be available at the auction in Green Grove Gardens, 1032 Buchanan Trail E., Greencastle. Doors open at 3 p.m., the silent auction starts at 4 p.m. and oral bidding begins at 5:30 p.m. The co-chairs said donations are still being sought.
Readers can sport an auction T-shirt, inscribed with this year’s logo, “Crushing Cancer. Together, We’re a Beast!” designed by Kim Hykes of Waynesboro. They are available online from Infinity Designs, 1500 E. Main St., Waynesboro, on its website at:
The cost is $15 for a short-sleeved tee, $18 for a long-sleeved tee and V-neck short-sleeved tee, and $13 for kids shirts.
