CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — The Chambersburg Fire Department and Chambersburg Police Department are introducing a joint holiday shirt featuring a local student’s artwork to support Holidays with Heroes, a program that helps families in the community.
The winning design was created by a student at Chambersburg Area Middle School North. Organizers narrowed the student submissions to eight finalists before the community selected the winner.
The joint fire and police department shirt is a new addition to this year’s effort. The Greater Chambersburg Area Paid Fire Fighters Association, IAFF Local 1813, is participating alongside the police department.
Shirts can be ordered through the online store. Customers are asked to specify whether they would like to pick up their orders at the fire department or police department.
Organizers thanked the community for supporting Holidays with Heroes and helping them support local families. They also recognized the students who submitted artwork and encouraged them to begin thinking about designs for next year’s contest.
Organizers credited the team at Blue Mountain with bringing the shirt project to life and Gabriela Juarez at the Chambersburg Area School District Engagement Center with coordinating the school’s involvement.
